I'm running to represent our community on the Madison County Council, in district 2 that follows the White River from Mounds State Park to Perkinsville + Jackson, Lafayette Townships along with parts of Anderson & Union Townships — the same land where my ancestors first settled and are now buried in Perkinsville Cemetery and several others throughout Madison County, Indiana.

November 2025
Madison County District 2 seat
is currently held by Diana Likens
Likens may or may not run again. As of the moment we have heard that Mikael Vaughn will be running for the same district as Nicole (Schuyler) Kapuscinski in 2026. Good Luck!!
Diana is a Likens by marriage, and NOT Blood.
My family has called this area home for many generations (7+). May ancestors migrated to Madison County, Indiana in the early 1800s. The Schuyler name was passed down matrilineally in honor of my Great-Grandfather Philip Pieterse Schuyler’s mother (Amsterdam) — reflects a tradition of respecting women and honoring our elders. He was among the earliest Dutch settlers in what became New York and New Jersey, and the first ambassador to the Delaware Native Americans ancestors.
(female Chief) (Delaware Native Americans - Chief Anderson (Swedish))
Our family legacy is one of diplomacy, mutual respect, and deep friendship with Indigenous communities all over the world— values I carry forward. I believe he chose his mother’s name not just to honor her, but to demonstrate to the Delaware Natives that he understood and respected their matrilineal customs. As do I.
As your representative, I will carry that same spirit of respect, integrity, and connection to the land, voters, taxpayers, and people who call Madison County, Indiana their home.
Madison County, IN isn’t just where I live — it’s part of who I am.
Thanks,
11th Generation American Melungeon
& Disgruntled Combat Veteran

Just a kid from Madison County, Indiana!
